With hearts full of joy, we invite you to witness the union of two families, as we begin our life's journey together beneath the trees of Kandalama.
Set into a rock face above the Kandalama reservoir, the hotel was designed by Sri Lanka's celebrated architect Geoffrey Bawa, who let the building grow along the contours of the land rather than the other way around. Its walls are wrapped in forest, its corridors open to the wind, and troops of monkeys, monitor lizards and hundreds of bird species move freely through the greenery that climbs over every terrace. It felt like the only fitting home for the start of our story.
Both moments take place within the grounds of Heritance Kandalama — a short, scenic walk apart.
Our palette for the evening is forest green, plum and ivory. We'd love for you to draw from these tones as you dress.
Kandyan-style sarees (osari), long gowns or elegant kurtas in forest green, plum, emerald, burgundy or champagne work beautifully for the evening.
Nationals, or a suit in forest green, plum, charcoal or navy. A tie or pocket square in the wedding colours is a lovely touch, paired with a crisp white or cream shirt.
As is customary, we kindly ask guests to avoid wearing all-white or ivory head-to-toe, as this is reserved for the bride. The Poruwa ceremony is on natural garden ground, so flats or block heels are recommended.
A group departure will be arranged for guests travelling from Colombo. Please let us know in your RSVP if you'd like a seat.
